Why Is Asbestos Still a Risk?
Asbestos might feel like an issue from the past, but it’s far from gone. Although its use has been banned in many countries, asbestos-containing materials (ACMs) are still found in countless older buildings—especially those built before 2000.
When disturbed, these materials release microscopic fibres that can cause serious and often fatal illnesses, including:
Asbestosis – Long-term lung scarring that makes breathing difficult
