On World Suicide Prevention Day, we come together to raise awareness, offer support to those in need, and take meaningful action to prevent suicide. Moreover, this day serves as a reminder of the importance of collective efforts in addressing this critical issue.

In addition, provisional figures from the Central Statistics Office (CSO) in Ireland highlight a positive trend, showing a decline in suicides. Specifically, the numbers dropped from 548 in 2018 to 302 in 2023. Therefore, while these statistics indicate progress, they also underscore the need for continued focus on mental health and suicide prevention initiatives.
