Each year, European Health & Safety Week unites organisations across Europe in a shared commitment to creating safer, healthier workplaces.
Held each October (calendar week 43), the European Week for Safety and Health at Work is a key highlight of the EU OSHA Healthy Workplaces Campaign. This year’s focus, Safe and Healthy Work in the Digital Age, runs from 20 to 24 October 2025 and highlights how digitalisation is transforming the workplace.
Across Europe and beyond, hundreds of awareness-raising events will take place during the week, including conferences, exhibitions, training sessions, film screenings, social media campaigns and competitions. The initiative, organised by EU OSHA and its national partners, promotes active, participative safety and health management in every sector.
Navigating the Digital Transformation
The digital age has reshaped how, where and when we work. From artificial intelligence and automation to remote collaboration tools and data driven systems, digitalisation offers enormous potential for efficiency, training and communication. However, it also introduces new challenges for occupational safety and health.
This year’s campaign encourages employers, managers and workers to build digital resilience, ensuring that technology enhances wellbeing rather than undermines it.
Here are some practical ways to take part during European Health & Safety Week:
1. Run a digital safety talk or refresher session
Short, focused sessions can help teams understand emerging risks from digital systems, automation or hybrid working. EHS International delivers tailored safety talks and refresher training for clients across Ireland and the UK, both onsite and through live online delivery.
2. Review your safety statement and digital risk assessments
As technology evolves, so should safety documentation.
