At EHS International, safety isn’t just what we do — it’s who we are. That’s why we’re proud to stand with our clients and partners across Ireland this week to mark Global Construction Safety Week 2025, a vital industry initiative that champions a safer, healthier, and more accountable construction sector.

What is Global Construction Safety Week?

Global Construction Safety Week is an annual international movement that unites the construction industry in a shared commitment to safety. Held this year from 5–9 May 2025, it provides an opportunity to reflect, refocus, and re-energise safety efforts across projects of all sizes.

The 2025 theme, “All In Together,” highlights the importance of collaboration at every level — from senior leadership to frontline operatives. Safety is not just a compliance requirement; it’s a collective mindset that ensures every worker returns home safely each day.

This initiative, now in its eleventh year, involves hundreds of organisations worldwide and engages millions of construction professionals. It aims to build stronger safety cultures, improve communication, and reduce risks through education, empowerment, and accountability.

On-Site Engagement Across Ireland

Over the past week, our team of consultants and trainers have kicked off a series of Construction Safety Week talks across sites in Ireland. These sessions were built around key global focus areas and designed to be both informative and interactive.

Each visit gave us the chance to:

  • Facilitate toolbox talks focused on current site challenges

  • Highlight key risks such as high-energy hazards and planning for safety

  • Encourage teams to engage, ask questions, and support one another

These weren’t one-way presentations — they were conversations rooted in trust and real experience.

Teamwork That Drives Results

We’ve seen outstanding collaboration across industries, with many of our clients using this global initiative to go beyond the basics:

  • Hosting cross-team safety briefings

  • Discussing mental health as part of overall site safety

  • Encouraging staff at all levels to share observations and solutions

This is what Global Construction Safety Week is all about — making time to focus, reset, and re-commit to doing things right.

A Culture of Shared Responsibility

This year’s message — “All In Together” — serves as a reminder that safety isn’t just the responsibility of a few individuals. It lives in the actions, decisions, and mindset of everyone on site.

Whether it’s a site manager double-checking a lift plan, or a first-year apprentice asking a smart question — those are the moments that create real safety culture.

Looking Ahead

To every client, contractor, and crew we’ve worked with this week: thank you. Your openness and leadership are what push this industry forward.

And while Global Construction Safety Week is just one week, the values it promotes are long-term. At EHS International, we’re here year-round to support safer sites, stronger teams, and smarter ways of working.
