Overview: This course is designed to provide individual employees with the knowledge and skills necessary to carry out manual handling tasks safely and effectively in the workplace. This course covers the anatomy of the spine, the principles of safe lifting, and risk assessments.

This course covers both the theoretical and practical elements of this training in a classroom environment.

Online Manual Handling Theory Awareness

Overview: This course outlines exactly what constitutes manual handling and covers the regulations and legislation that apply to manual handling tasks. It then goes on to cover safe handling techniques and how to develop good habits in relation to manual handling.

For full manual handling competency a practical session is also required.

Practical Manual Handling Training

Overview: Practical training for manual handling is delivered as a blended course, combining an online theory module (approx. 75 minutes) with a mandatory, hands-on practical session (15 minutes to 4 hours depending on the group)

For full manual handling competency a theory awareness course is required before practial lifts can be complete.
