Unit EM1: Management of Environmental Performance
- Foundations of environmental management
- Environmental management systems and standards (ISO 14001)
- Environmental impact assessment
- Control of emissions to air, water, and land
- Waste management and minimisation
- Energy use, transport, and sustainability
- Environmental noise, nuisance, and emergency response
- Auditing, monitoring, and continuous improvement
Unit EM2: Environmental Aspects and Impacts Assessment
- A practical, workplace-based project
- Identification of significant environmental aspects and impacts
- Development of control and improvement measures
EMC1 Assessment structure
- Open-book examination:
- You will be given a real-life scenario to review.
- You will need to answer both theoretical and practical questions related to that scenario.
- This assessment can be completed from anywhere in the world.
- Unit EMC1 is assessed by a scenario based assessment completed at home. You have 24 hours to complete this
- This replaced the previous risk assessment and requires you to assess environmental aspects and impacts in your own workplace.
- It is a hands-on assessment that focuses on applying your learning to your actual work environment.
- Unit EMC2 is assessed by a three-hour practical assessment carried out in your workplace (or another suitable workplace).

All NEBOSH scheduled assessment dates along with the RRC registration deadlines.
Delegates who successfully complete the course and assessment will receive a certificate approved by NEBOSH.

Familiarity with the Safety, Health and Welfare at Work (Construction) Regulations 2013.
A good command of the English language is required for this course especially for interpreting regulations, preparing safety documentation and communicating effectively on site. For learners who do not speak English as a first language we provide an initial language assessment to determine of additional support is needed for understanding course materials and assessments in English.
