Manual handling is one of the most common causes of injury in the workplace. Under Irish and EU legislation all employees must receive training to carry out lifting and related activities correctly. Failure by an employer or employee to carry out the required training is a breach of the 2005 Safety, Health and Welfare at Work Act.
The training must include both theory and practical instruction. This online course is the theory section of the required training. To be legally compliant you will also need to do a practical face to face session of approx 20 to 30 mins duration. EHS International can arrange this additional practical session at a small cost. • State the professionals most at risk from incorrect handling techniques.
