Working at Height Training Course
Chris Mee is a leading provider of Working at Height training courses in Ireland for over 20 years. Our courses are designed by Construction and Fire Brigade instructors over many years. We aim to provide individuals with the knowledge and skills necessary to work safely at heights, which is a common activity across many industries including construction, maintenance, and engineering.
Working at Height is commonly abbreviated as WAH and requires a risk assessment to be carried out by a competent person. Sample activities working on scaffolding, on ladders, on protected and unprotected roofs, platforms, bridges and many more locations.

Topics covered in a Working at Height course include:
- Legal and safety requirements for working at height, including relevant legislation and guidelines
- Hazard recognition and risk assessment, including identification and control of fall hazards
- Proper use and inspection of equipment, such as ladders, scaffolding, and safety harnesses
- Safe work practices, including safe methods of access and egress, and securing tools and materials
- Emergency response procedures, including rescue techniques and first aid
- Planning and organizing work at height, including effective communication and teamwork
- Roles and responsibilities of individuals involved in working at height operations
- The course includes both theoretical and practical components, including hands-on training in the use of safety equipment and techniques for working at height. The aim of the course is to ensure that participants are able to work at height safely and effectively, minimizing the risk of injury and accidents.
Assessment:
Assessments include a combination of written exams and practical assessments.
Certification:
On successful completion of the course, participants receive a certificate of completion from Chris Mee – EHS International.
Duration:
The Working at Height course is delivered over half a day, typically from 13:00 – 16:00
